dc.description.abstractIntroduction: PCOS is one of the most common endocrine illnesses that affect young women during their reproductive years. PCOS is linked to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes and infertility, putting a financial strain on the healthcare system. The goal of this study is to find out how well Nepalese women understand, react to, and treat polycystic ovarian syndrome. Methods: A cross-section study was conducted among the women aged between 18 and 45 years from october 2020 to February 2020 among the Nepalese women. Online survey was conducted where the google forms with the structured questionnaire was shared and posted in various social media application naming: Facebook, Instagram, whatsapp, email, and Linkedin. SPSS was used to determine the socio demographic factors and knowledge, attitude and practice of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Results: Over 300 participating women 21% of the participants were found to have a knowledge of PCOS. 36% of the participants had known the correlation between PCOS and obesity. The average knowledge on PCOS was good however, the practice towards PCOS was poor. In terms of prevalence, 48% of the participants were diagnosed with PCOS with the combined 36% of self diagnosed individuals and 12% of confirmed diagnosed among their family members. Conclusion: lifestyle and dietary habits are the key factors to have PCOS prevention. Therefore, knowledge on diet, exercise should be raised with further interventions.en_US
